What is phentermine used for?

Phentermine is commonly used short-term to help with weight loss in people who have obesity or who are overweight and have other health conditions, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol.

Terfamex 30mg capsules

Terfamex 30mg capsules are indicated to treat people with exogenous obesity, a type of obesity that does not depend on internal factors.

Presentations 

Currently in Mexico, Terfamex is sold under two different weights:

• 15mg phentermine
• 30mg phentermine
• OD 37.5mg taken once a day, preferably early in the morning.
• OD 15mg taken one or two times per day, depending on doctor’s orders.

The weight must be indicated by the doctor, because, depending on the characteristics of the organism, it will require a certain weight.

Terfamex OD vs Terfamex

OD is presented in orodispersible tablets , that is, they are placed under the tongue and disintegrate instantly, releasing the active substance. The box for this product contains 30 tablets with 15, 30 and 37.5mg each. However, since it dissolves on your tongue, Terfamex 37.5 can be taken with or without water. ODTs are a good option for people that have trouble swallowing pills, but they tend to cost more than traditional capsules or tablets.

Major Side Effects

If any of the following side effects occur while taking Terfamex, check with your doctor immediately:

Rare

• Seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
• severe mental changes

Incidence not known:

• Chest pain
• decreased ability to exercise
• dizziness
• fainting
• fast, irregular, pounding, or racing heartbeat or pulse
• headache
• numbness or tingling in the arms or legs
• swelling of the feet or lower legs
• trembling or shaking of the legs, arms, hands, or feet
• trouble breathing
• trouble with thinking, speaking, or walking
• weakness

 

 

Minor Side Effects

Some Terfamex side effects may not need any medical attention. As your body gets used to the medicine these side effects may disappear. Your health care professional may be able to help you prevent or reduce these side effects, but do check with them if any of the following side effects continue, or if you are concerned about them:

• Decreased interest in sexual intercourse
• difficulty having a bowel movement (stool)
• dry mouth
• false or unusual sense of well-being
• hives or welts
• inability to have or keep an erection
• increased in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
• increased interest in sexual intercourse
• itching
• loss in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
• redness of the skin
• skin rash
• unpleasant taste

  Weight loss during pregnancy can harm an unborn baby, even if you are overweight. Do not use Terfamex if you are pregnant.

  Do not use Terfamex if you have used an MAO inhibitor such as furazolidone (Furoxone), isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil), rasagiline (Azilect), selegiline (Eldepryl, Emsam, Zelapar), or tranylcypromine (Parnate) in the last 14 days. A dangerous drug interaction could occur, leading to serious side effects.

  Taking Terfamex together with other diet medications such as fenfluramine (Phen-Fen) or dexfenfluramine (Redux) can cause a rare fatal lung disorder called pulmonary hypertension. Do not take Terfamex with any other diet medications without your doctor’s advice.

  Terfamex may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert.

  Drinking alcohol can increase certain side effects of Terfamex.

  Terfamex is only part of a complete program of treatment that may also include diet, exercise, and weight control. Follow your diet, medication, and exercise routines very closely.

  Terfamex may be habit-forming and should be used only by the person it was prescribed for. Never share Terfamex with another person, especially someone with a history of drug abuse or addiction. Keep track of the amount of medicine used from each new bottle. Terfamex is a drug of abuse and you should be aware if anyone is using your medicine improperly or without a prescription.

  Do not stop using Terfamex suddenly, or you could have unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. Ask your doctor how to avoid withdrawal symptoms when you stop using Terfamex
